Excel Precision 1512A sensor incorporates laser
diode and position sensitive detector into a compact housing. The one-piece
sensor head enables measurement to be conducted on objects that have
rapid moving speed, or at a location hard to reach. Example: a
rotating spindle, a spinning disk, moving sheet metal, etc. With resolution maximum to 0.1 micron, the 1512A
sensor achieves high frequency response and accurate detection by applying unique design.
The laser beam shines on the detected object and returns on the position
sensitive detector in the sensor head. When target moves, the
reflected laser beam will shine on different
locations of the detector. User is able to determine the amount of movement by
comparing the signal intensity on the detector. Multiple
range and resolution are provided for best measurement results.
